It’s finally here!  We got to meet all of the players… all the ones we’ve been waiting to meet… John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, Demarcus Cousins, Daniel Orton, you name it.

Couple interesting notes… Wall and Bledsoe both said they WOULD NOT be here if Billy Gillispie was still the coach.

I talked to Perry Stevenson who is always funny.  I asked him what he thought of everything that’s happened to Billy G since he left UK, and Perry looked at me like I was crazy?  He said ‘what happened’?

That’s Perry.

Mark Krebs, the walk-on turned scholarship player, was still smiling from ear to ear over the opportunity he was given.  He said Coach Cal was just having a regular team meeting at the lodge and just happened to mention that Krebs was going on scholarship.  He was shocked!  He said he doesn’t even know how late he was up that night calling people to tell them… and that’s after his mom called 40 people!

Josh Harrelson said last year was humiliating for him.  He said he was THE whipping boy last year.  Says he’s already having more fun playing basketball.

Deandre Liggins is a different player.  He thinks fans have the wrong opinion of him.  He wants you to know he’s a good kid.  He wants you to know he loves being here.  Deandre knows he made mistakes but he was having a tough time dealing with everything as a freshman.  He says he’s trying to make sure the freshman here now don’t make those same mistakes.

Ramon Harris’ whole life has changed.  He’s a father now.  Aubrey, his daughter, is now the reason he wants to succeed on the court.

That’s just a couple of the highlights from the guys you didn’t hear from on the news today… but you will in the future.

Can’t wait for Big Blue Madness and basketball season to start!!
